The Elk Creek Fire Protection District serves one of Colorado’s most beautiful and challenging terrains. The people of ECFPD, both volunteers and career staff, put themselves on the line every single day. ECFESA exists to make sure that mission has a community standing with it: the people who serve, the families behind them, and the neighbors they protect.
We are a Colorado nonprofit corporation organized under Title 7 of the Colorado Revised Statutes, headquartered at 11993 Blackfoot Drive, Conifer, Colorado 80433. We are entirely apolitical and community-driven.
ECFESA’s mission is threefold:
ECFESA is not an official agency of ECFPD. We are a community-driven organization that supports the district wholeheartedly. This independence means we can raise funds, run events, and advocate publicly in ways that complement, rather than constrain, the district’s official operations.
Anyone over 18 who is willing to contribute to the work of ECFESA is welcome, regardless of gender, race, creed, nationality, or geography. ECFESA membership comes from three groups: ECFPD personnel (active or retired, paid or volunteer), Community Ambassadors, and members of the community served by ECFPD. Each group has direct representation on the Board. Membership is confirmed by petition to the ECFESA Board after meeting minimum participation criteria.
Our minimum expectation: within the past 12 months, participate in at least two ECFESA activities, or lead one. That’s it — show up and pitch in.
